Engaging ISO 14,000 for the Environment
ISO 14,000 is a major set of international standards governing environmental management systems. ECOLOGIA has developed the ISO 14,000 website to encourage the involvement of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the development and implementation of these standards. ECOLOGIA serves as an NGO liaison member of the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO's) Technical Committee 207, which is responsible for the development of ISO 14,000. The ISO 14,000 NGO Initiative includes information about ISO 14,000, case studies on successful EMS implementation, and an on-line discussion forum for interested NGOs.
